BEDFORD, Pa. — Four Bedford residents are charged after police say they smoked marijuana with two children whom two of the four were babysitting.

Kylie Aurandt, 32, William Aurandt, 32, Ian Stiffler, 20, and Aidan Michael Rogers, 19, each face charges of corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and possession of a controlled substance, WTAJ reported.

Bedford police began investigating after a ChildLine report on Friday, Oct. 23, according to the criminal complaints cited by WTAJ.

According to the complaints, the Aurandts went to the Bedford police station and said the children's mother had allowed them to smoke marijuana. The mother denied that when officers spoke with her. Police and the mother then went to a home in Everett to talk with the children.

The children told investigators that Kylie and William Aurandt were babysitting them when Stiffler and Rogers came to the home. Police say Kylie Aurandt had marijuana and Stiffler had what one child called a "bread bomb," a homemade smoking device described in the charging documents as half of a water bottle with marijuana, tape and a bread bag.

The children told police they coughed and felt hungry after smoking, and both said their eyes were red. Two witnesses who came to the home to confront the four said Kylie and William Aurandt told them directly that marijuana had been smoked, according to the complaints. Both children later tested positive for marijuana in urine tests arranged with police and Children and Youth Services, the complaints say.

All four were taken to the Bedford County Prison, with bail set at $75,000 each. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for Nov. 4.

The children are not being identified.

Charges are allegations. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
