Commissioners to take up building repair bids Tuesday
Bid awards for a sidewalk project and a boiler and water heater replacement at county administration buildings are on the commissioners' Oct. 20 agenda.
The Garrett County Commissioners will consider two contracts for work at the county's administration buildings when they meet Tuesday, Oct. 20.
According to the agenda the county posted Oct. 14, the county's Purchasing Division is scheduled to present bid awards for a sidewalk project at the Garrett County administration buildings and for replacing the boiler and water heater in the county administration building. The agenda does not list the bidders or the dollar amounts.
The board's administrative session is set for 3 p.m., with the public session starting at 4 p.m. The bid awards are expected around 4:05 p.m., followed by public comment at about 4:15 p.m. The county says all session times are approximate. The Oct. 5 agenda lists the Oct. 20 meeting at the Garrett County Courthouse in Oakland, and it will also be streamed live at garrettcountymd.gov/live.
Residents who want to speak to the board are asked to schedule time in advance through Carol A. Riley-Alexander, executive assistant to the commissioners and the county administrator. Written comments can be sent to comments@garrettcountymd.gov. The board may also go into a closed executive session for matters the law does not allow to be discussed in public, the agenda notes.
Tuesday's agenda is a short one. At their previous meeting on Oct. 5, the commissioners' agenda included bid awards for winter abrasives and road salt, fire apparatus inspection and testing, and new taxiway lighting at the Garrett County Airport, plus a rejection of bids for the Finzel Park improvement project.
After Tuesday, the board's next public meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. at the courthouse.
